Obituary: Michael E. Guiliano Sr., 100, of Meriden

Michael was a proud U.S Army World War II veteran, longtime employee of New Departure, avid sports fan and devoted family man.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Meriden Funeral Home) Michael E. Guiliano Sr., 100, of Meriden, loving husband for 68 years to the late Rose M. Guiliano, peacefully entered into eternal rest in the comfort of his home, Monday, June 27, 2022.

Michael was born in Middletown, April 30, 1922, a son of the late Dominic Guiliano and Mary (Garafalo) Guiliano and had been a Meriden resident for many years. A proud veteran of World War II, he faithfully served his country with the U.S. Army 103rd Infantry.

Michael had been employed by New Departure until his retirement. He was a fan of the N.Y. Giants, UCONN Women’s Basketball, and also enjoyed watching professional boxing.

He is survived by three sons, Michael E. Guiliano, Jr., Donald J. Guiliano both of Meriden, Robert J. Guiliano of CA; five grandchildren: Dominic Guiliano, Joey Guiliano, Alyssa Guiliano, Jennifer Guiliano, Douglas Blankenship, Jr., six great-grandchildren: Nyaisa, Gerelle, Ally Rose, A.J., Cienna and Lianna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sons Dennis Blankenship and Douglas Blankenship, Sr.; and two brothers Robert and Salvatore Guiliano.

A private Inurnment with military honors will be held at the State Veterans’ Cemetery Columbarium in Middletown, CT.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, CT.
