MIDDLETOWN, CT — Three Middletown Police officers are being recognized for going above and beyond with helping a family in need on Christmas.

“On Christmas day, Sgt. D'Aresta, Officer Gagne and Officer Stroud responded to a call where a family with three small children were struggling,” according to a post on the Middletown Police Department’s Facebook page. “The officers called DCF to help the family get the services they needed to get back on their feet. That's all they needed to do, but they went a step further. The officers and DCF pooled their money together to purchased food for the family at a local restaurant and then later went to the only open store with food and got them enough food to get through the next few days.

“It was a great collaboration with the police and DCF to help a family in need. DCF reached out to say they were so grateful for the compassion and patience the officers showed to the family. Well done officers you went above and beyond.”
