Obituary: Sarah Marie Ayotte, 37, Of Middletown

A talented figure skater with a zest for life, she graduated from cosmetology school and loved cats, Italian food and cooking.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — (From Della Vecchia Funeral Home): Sarah Marie Ayotte, 37, of Southington, more recently of Middletown, passed away much too soon on May 26, 2022. Sarah was born on April 27, 1985 in Orlando, FL, and was a daughter of Cynthia Marie (Merhige) Jones and Ronald Ayotte.

Sarah had a zest for life. She loved cats, Italian food and cooking. She was a talented figure skater and she loved the glamour that was part of the sport. She was always meticulous about her hair and makeup when going out and continued this passion graduating from cosmetology school. Sarah was independent, strong-willed, determined and passionate. She was a social butterfly who loved deeply and will be remembered for her big heart.

She will be dearly missed by her young children, Liam Shea and Connor Ayotte, her mother Cynthia (Merhige) Jones, and stepfather Erik Jones of Plantsville, and her father Ronald R. Ayotte of Terryville, two sisters, Michelle (Ayotte) Spyros and her husband Michael of Newington, and Samantha Jones of Plantsville, twin nieces Olivia and Ariana Spyros, aunt, Theresa Malloy and her husband Brian, uncle Wayne Ayotte and his wife Anne Marie, cousins Brian Malloy Jr. and Ashley Malloy, Chris and Kevin Ayotte, step grandmother Joanne Leahy, and family friend, PeeWee. She is predeceased by her grandparents; Dorothy Merhige, Therese Ayotte Smith, Galen Smith, Herbert Ayotte, Robert Leahy and by her great-grandmother Virginia Burnham.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Burial will be private. Sarah had a zest and raw love of life. Her family asks that everyone take the time to share one more hug and to say one more “I Love You” to those who are cherished.
