Special Weather Statement Issued For Southern Connecticut

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement for all of southern Connecticut on Wednesday evening.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for southern Connecticut on Wednesday evening.

"Patchy dense fog has redeveloped across southern Connecticut, with visibilities a quarter mile or less," the weather service said. "If you are traveling be prepared for changing visibilities. Slow down, all extra extra distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, and use your low beams. The dense fog may become more widespread this evening, and a dense fog advisory may be issued."

Tonight: Rain. Widespread dense fog. Temperature falling to near 39 by 8pm, then rising to around 44 during the remainder of the night. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: Rain likely, mainly before 10am. Widespread fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 50. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Rain, mainly after 1am. Widespread fog. Low around 38. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday: Rain likely, mainly before 1pm. Widespread fog, mainly before 1pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 49. Northeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 47.
