Carmen Diaz, 87, of Monroe, Passed Away

MONROE, CT — Carmen Diaz, age 87, of Monroe, died peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Jose Diaz. Mrs. Diaz was born in Cuba to the late Antonio and Elisenda Vega.

Mrs. Diaz graduated from the University of Havana in Cuba where she earned her degree as a pharmacist. She worked as a pharmacist in Cuba at her family's business until they emigrated to the United States. Mrs. Diaz was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her loving son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Millie Diaz of Monroe; her beloved granddaughter, Gabriela Diaz; and many cherished extended family members and friends.Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 9:00 am at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 10:30 am at St. Mary Church, 25 Sherman St., Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial.
