New Date For Montville Holiday Parade And Tree Lighting Ceremony

The parade has a special appearance by Santa on a Fire Department vehicle.

The Montville CT Police Department said on Facebook that the holiday parade that was scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 3 has been postponed until next Sunday, December 10th. The parade will follow the same schedule.

NEW MILFORD, CT — The Montville CT Police Department said on Facebook that the holiday parade that was scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 3 has been postponed until next Sunday, December 10th. The parade will follow the same schedule.

This parade is an annual parade put on by the town with assistance from the police department, fire department, public works, citizens, and businesses. People, floats, and vehicles will be part of the parade. The parade even has a special appearance by Santa on a Fire Department vehicle. The parade ends at town hall with the annual lighting of the tree!

What day is the parade?

Sunday December 10 starting at 5PM.

What time does the road closure start?

Officers will begin closing roadways at 415PM and roads will remain closed until the road is clear.

How can I get to where I’m going?

Officers will be at intersections along the parade route. One detour will be setup for people traveling through which is Red Cedar to Jerome Road to Maple Ave back to Route 32. Lathrop Road to Depot Road/Pink Row on the east side is another way around the parade but there will not be detour signs on that Route.

What roads will be affected?

Route 32 from the Waterford Town Line to the Maple Avenue and the side streets off Route 32 connecting to Lathrop and Jerome Road. If you live on Route 32 in the parade route or a side street, please plan ahead.

Where can I park?

Side streets off of Route 32 between the parade Route. Do not block driveways. Do not park at any businesses or residences unless they are allowing people to park there. If you park within the parade route, that being the route the parade is physically traveling, you will not be able to leave until the roadway is reopened.
