It’s 1952: America’s on the verge of the H-bomb, Dwight Eisenhower’s on the campaign trail, and I Love Lucy’s on Monday nights. A plucky detective dame, fighting to make her mark in a man's world has gotta find out who dumped a dead guy in Boston Harbor. Russian spies are trading in nuclear secrets. Joe McCarthy's seeing Commies at every turn as his daughter gets set to marry her boy-next-door paramour, who himself may be more then he seems!
And just what has this got to do with the promise of a honeymoon in Havana?

Three love stories, a murder mystery, and a nuclear espionage plot converge in this noir comedy about marriage and other explosive devices. It's a blunt-nosed, sharp-eyed look at love and tying (and untying, and retying) the knot.

Sherman Playhouse is looking for a talented cast to play up to 16 characters in this fast-paced, fast-talking, mystery/romance/comedy caper!

It's an actor's dream!

We can accept video submissions or arrange in-person or remote auditions with the Director Michael Frohnhoefer. Michael was last with us in 2023 when he directed Kate Hamill's comedy version of Pride and Prejudice. P&P's cast loved working with Michael - he's really is an 'actor's director' fitting his style to suit the individual in order to achieve a wonderful ensemble performance.
