NEWTOWN, CT — Recent obituaries from Newtown:

James “Jim” Gulalo, 75,was a born entrepreneur and businessman starting several successful companies including Country Management Associates, Realty Solutions Center and finally Preferred Insurance Services in 1997. He had a wide range of diverse professions starting in New York City as a taxi driver, locksmith, property manager, real estate & insurance agent.

William Anthony Brimmer, Jr., 74, started his company Hattertown Consultants 12 years ago. He was a member of the Newtown Savings Bank Board of Directors, and served on the Newtown Board of Selectman for 10 years, and as a Justice of the Peace. More recently Bill served as President of the Newtown Meeting House, and was a long-time member of the Benvenuto Cellini Book Society and the Men’s Literary and Social Club of Newtown Street.

Phyllis Chadbourne Lichtenwalner, “Chad”, 96, a retired registered nurse and regional health director, enjoyed gardening, knitting, and caring for her beloved cat, Lovey. She remained a much beloved family matriarch. She was a good storyteller, always keen to reminisce about her many adventures overseas.
