Con profundo pesar, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Robert Zúniga Cordero, de 54 años, residente de Norwalk, Connecticut. Falleció en las primeras horas del sábado 31 de agosto, rodeado de sus seres queridos en el Hospital de Norwalk, después de una larga batalla contra el cáncer de páncreas y de hígado.

Robert, hijo de Urbano Zuñiga Arias y Carmelina Cordero Acuna, nació en Costa Rica el 5 de octubre de 1969 y emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1997. Robert deja atrás a su amada esposa, María Regalado. Estuvieron juntos durante 25 años. También le sobreviven sus hijos, Noilyn, Deilyn, Mauren, Gederson “Boly” Herrera (Zeneisy) y Juan Alexis Regalado (Alexandra). Fue el querido abuelo de Jariely (Chris), Arleny, Jesleiny, Yeison, Robert, Daniel y Brady, y el orgulloso bisabuelo de Yamaris. Robert también es sobrevivido por sus hermanas Ania, Sonia, Xinia, Sidey, María, y sus hermanos Gerardo, William, Ramón y Ramiro. Le preceden en el fallecimiento su hermana Dunia y su hermano Roy. Deja atrás a innumerables otros familiares y amigos.

Devoto católico, Robert era miembro de la Iglesia de San Ladislao en Norwalk. Compartió su amor por la vida, la fe y su naturaleza generosa con todos los que lo conocieron. Vivió su vida para su familia y se enorgulleció de asegurarse de que estuvieran bien cuidados hasta sus últimos momentos. Robert era un alma generosa que nunca dudó en apoyar a quienes lo rodeaban. Con un corazón lleno de amor, acogía a todos en su vida y siempre tenía espacio para más en su familia. Su bondad y compasión no conocían límites, y tocó profundamente las vidas de todos los que lo conocieron. Disfrutaba de la música, el baile, el fútbol y de pasar tiempo con sus amados perritos Alfie y Lio. Aunque su presencia será profundamente extrañada por su familia, encontramos consuelo en saber qué nos estará cuidando desde arriba.

Una Misa de Cuerpo Presente se celebrará el viernes 6 de septiembre a las 9 a.m. en la Parroquia Católica Romana de San Ladislao. Se pide a los amigos y familiares que vayan directamente a la iglesia. El velorio se llevará a cabo el jueves 5 de septiembre de 6 a 9 p.m. en Raymond Funeral Home en Historic Norwalk, 5 E Wall Street, Norwalk.

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Robert Zuniga Cordero, 54, of Norwalk, Connecticut. He passed away in the early hours of Saturday, August 31st, surrounded by loved ones at Norwalk Hospital after a long battle with pancreatic and liver cancer.

Robert, son of Urbano Zuñiga Arias and Carmelina Cordero Acuna, was born in Costa Rica on October 5th, 1969, and emigrated to the United States in 1997. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Maria Regalado. They were together for 25 years. He is also survived by his children, Noilyn, Deilyn, Mauren, Gederson “Boly” Herrera (Zeneisy), and Juan Alexis Regalado (Alexandra). He was the beloved grandfather of Jariely (Chris), Arleny, Jesleiny, Yeison, Robert, Daniel, and Brady, and the proud great-grandfather of Yamaris. Robert is also survived by his sisters Ania, Sonia, Xinia, Sidey, Maria, and brothers, Gerardo, William, Ramon, and Ramiro. He is predeceased by sister Dunia and brother Roy. He leaves behind countless other family members and friends.

A devout Catholic, Robert was a member of St. Ladislaus Church in Norwalk. He shared his love of life, faith, and giving nature with all who knew him. He lived his life for his family and took great pride in ensuring they were well cared for until his last moments. Robert was a generous soul who never hesitated to support anyone around him. With a heart full of love, he welcomed everyone into his life and always made room for more in his family. His kindness and compassion knew no bounds, and he deeply touched the lives of all who knew him. He enjoyed music, dancing, soccer and spending time with his beloved grand-dogs Alfie and Lio. Though Robert’s presence will be dearly missed by his family, we find comfort in knowing he will be watching over us.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 6th at 9 a.m. at St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Parish. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 5th from 6-9 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Home in Historic Norwalk, 5 E Wall Street, Norwalk.
