Alex S. Koletsos

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Alex S. Koletsos, who left us on June 30, 2024 at the age of 89. Surrounded by his loving family in his final moments, he was a man of immense faith and profound love for his family and close friends, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones, and especially with his granddaughters.
The son of Sotirios and Triandafilia (Karayiani) Koletsos, he was born in Oropedio, Grevena, Greece in 1934. He moved to the U.S. in 1955 and eventually settled in Norwalk, CT. Prior to entering the local restaurant business as an enthusiastic cook who enjoyed making others happy through food, he spent some time serving in the U.S. Army as a cook before being honorably discharged. He later married in 1969 and brought his wife, Alexandra, to the U.S. to create a better life for himself and his family. His passions included cooking, taking long walks, and attending his local church, St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Norwalk, CT. But his absolute favorite, most loved thing to do was visiting his granddaughters every weekend to hear them calling for their Papou.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Alexandra Koletsos, his children, Alex Koletsos Jr., Rose Koletsos, Andy Koletsos, and Sophia Guzman, as well as his son-in-law, Christopher Guzman, and his two beloved granddaughters, Alexandra and Ioulia Guzman, who loved their Papou dearly and were the apple of his eye. He is also survived by an older brother, Stergios Koletsos (Sofia), sister-in-law Athina Koletsos (Loukas) and many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored. He is predeceased by his two younger brothers, Loukas (Athina) and George (Frideriki) Koletsos. We will all continue to honor his legacy by living our lives to the fullest and by keeping his memory alive through spreading faith and joy while enjoying a good meal within the company of others.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support during this difficult time. Services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Rd, Norwalk, CT on Friday, July 5th, beginning at 9am for the viewing, followed by the funeral service at 10am. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk.
The Raymond Funeral Home in Historic Norwalk is Honored to assist in the arrangements. Please visit www.Raymond.Care to leave an online condolence for the family.
