Eversource Town-By-Town Power Restoration Estimate

Eversource has released a list of town-by-town power estimates.

HARTFORD, CT — Eversource customers still in the dark should have power back no later than 11 p.m. Sunday, according to company officials. The company released a town-by-town estimate of when power will be restored. About 35,000 outages remained as of Friday night.

Eversource managed to reduce the number of outages from 133,000 to about 52,000 between Thursday and Friday afternoon. Utility workers, public works departments and emergency responders have been working around the clock to clean up the mess.

“We recognize how difficult it is for our customers to be without power and we greatly appreciate their patience,” said Eversource Vice President of Electric Operations in Connecticut Michael Hayhurst. “We’ve made tremendous progress despite the difficult conditions our crews are facing and continue working tirelessly to get the lights back on for everyone still affected by this storm.”

Strong wind gusts coupled with heavy and wet snow weighed down power lines across the state and caused many trees and branches to fall.

Eversource released the following estimates for power restoration Friday night.

State Police responded to 166 accidents between 11 a.m. March 7 and 7 a.m. March 8. Six accidents had injuries, but there were no fatalities. State Police also responded to 565 calls for a motor vehicle assist.

United Illuminating has about 5,100 outages.
