GoFundMe Created For Ridgefield Restaurant Worker Who Lost Everything

An online fundraiser has been established for a Ridgefield restaurant employee who lost everything in a fire.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — An online fundraiser has been established for a Ridgefield restaurant employee who lost everything in a fire.

The blaze destroyed the mobile home of Orfa Escobedo-Diaz, an employee of Bailey's Backyard restaurant, who lived on Holsapple Road in Dover Plains.

First responders from J. H. Ketcham Hose Company called in a second alarm to bring in mutual aid from Union Vale Fire District, Millbrook Fire Department, Gaylordsville Fire Department and Sherman Fire Department, according to the fire company's Facebook page.

Orfa, her husband, and their three daughters are currently staying with family, according to the GoFundMe page.

"Orfa and her husband have worked hard to build a life for their family and all their physical belongings are now gone," the fundraiser's organizer posted.

The fundraiser was created three days ago, and has raised $15,160 of its $20,000 goal, through 171 donations as of Tuesday morning.
