Connecticut Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued

We also take a look at the weekend weather forecast as one day is shaping up to be better than the other. Here are the latest details.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for all of southern Connecticut for late tonight and Friday, according to the National Weather Service, during which we can expect heavy rain and a possible thunderstorm

The weather service states, “Heavy rainfall is possible tonight that could lead to areal flooding...mainly for urban and flood prone regions.”

No advisories have been issued for Hartford and Tolland counties, but they can still expect to see some rain and possible thunderstorms late tonight and Friday. The entire state could pick up a decent amount of rain, especially areas in southern Connecticut.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan wrote, “Heavy rain close by tomorrow morning. Best chance for seeing downpours is along the I-95 corridor but it's an extremely narrow band.”

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, high near 80. Showers and thunderstorms developing after midnight. On the coast we could see up to an inch of rain. In northern Connecticut, up to a half inch of rain is possible.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms possible throughout the day. Another inch of rain is possible in southern Connecticut, and another half inch in northern Connecticut.

Saturday: Chance of showers but also some sun too. High near 85.

Sunday: Sun, temps in the low 80s.
