Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Ridgefield

After several days of snow recently, there is actually some good news in the upcoming forecast.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — It snowed Thursday, Friday and Sunday and there was talk that a significant snowstorm could form for the middle of the work week in Connecticut but there is some good news regarding that this morning. In fact the weather this week looks to be downright boring compared to last week and there is some news that temps may heat up soon too.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan wrote, “As the Wednesday/Thursday storm threat fades there's a big signal for big warmth across a large chunk of the country over the next 10 days.”

Despite the apparent good news regarding the weather this week and beyond, the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the entire state Monday. A Wind Advisory is in effect for Monday with winds gusting 20 to 30 mph with some gusts reaching 50 mph at times, the weather service states. Isolated power outages are possible, the weather service states.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote, “Please watch your step out there today! I am expecting the wind to pick up and get quite strong for the middle of the day and into the afternoon. Great news for Valentine's Day tomorrow! Quiet weather!

He said gusts between 50 and 60 mph are expected at times.

  • Monday: Partly sunny, high near 40 degrees. Wind chill values make it feel closer to 20 degrees. Very windy.
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high near 35 degrees. Feels much colder with the wind chill factor.
  • Wednesday: A slight chance of snow showers in the morning. High near 40 degrees.
  • Thursday: Partly sunny and a high temp in the upper 30s.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.
  • By next Sunday, Connecticut could approach 50 degrees.
