It is time to bring our history up to date! The Ridgefield Historical Society is in the process of updating the town’s Historical Resource Inventory (HRI), a list of the historic buildings and sites in Ridgefield. The project will be funded through two grants that the Historical Society and the Town of Ridgefield received from the Connecticut State Preservation Office (CT SHPO).

An additional 300 historic resources will be added to the current list of 500, which has not been updated since 1983. The process involves documenting details and pictures of structures, locations, and objects that are over 50 years old as well as newer buildings that have architectural significance. Starting Monday April 24th, two historians from Chronicle Heritage will be photographing the designated sites from the public right of way, unless otherwise permitted by the property owner. The fieldwork is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day on Wednesday April 26th.
