Enjoy the warm weather today as some accumulating snow is now expected for Friday morning and a more significant storm is possible on Tuesday, according to two leading Connecticut meteorologists.

As always with snow, everyone wants to know how much accumulation we may receive. WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said his initial estimate for Friday’s snow for Connecticut is 2-4 inches, and he said as of right now he expects the snow to have an impact on schools and the morning commute.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan has been studying the Tuesday storm and in a detailed blog post said some computer models are already predicting more than a half foot of snow. He said this is quite impressive since the storm is 7 days away.

“Overnight computer guidance continues to be quite bullish on the threat for snow Tuesday. Oh yeah and some snow Friday too,” Hanrahran wrote on Facebook.
Concerning today’s weather, Simmons wrote, “The rain will end and we will see some sunshine today with high temperatures in the 50s. Get ready for some snow on Friday morning! A round of Winter is on the way!”
