When it comes to being prepared, Ridgefield’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) practices what it preaches. September is National Preparedness Month and Ridgefield CERTs will host a half hour segment on how to be storm ready (Ridgefield Is Ready, Are You?) on Thursday, September 7th at 7 p.m. This webinar is designed to offer preparation tips and safety reminders that are specific to Ridgefield. CERT is a volunteer organization that serves the town in times of disaster, community emergencies and town-wide events such as the annual Main Street holiday lighting, the Fourth of July fireworks and the Ridgefield Triathlon. CERTs have supported the Office of Emergency Management during macrobursts and storms including Irene, Sandy, Sno-tober, and Isaias.

CERTs volunteered over 15,000 hours during the pandemic with daily updates, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) delivery, test kit handouts, and vaccination clinic and rental assistance program operations. For more information contact [email protected].
