Connecticut Weather: Get Ready For The Cold, Maybe Snow

Enjoy the final days of November, as snow could be coming as soon as this weekend. NBC Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan says that there is a low chance of snow showing up on radars for Sunday in Connecticut. While Hanrahan said the odds of snow are low, forecasters are predicting cold weather in Connecticut's future.

A stormy pattern and much colder air are on deck for the second week of December, though forecasters say it is still too early for specifics. Accuweather says, depending how low the jet stream dips, New England could "turn significantly colder" come mid-December.

"Later in December, perhaps not until the third week, a change will occur where more extreme cold will first enter the northern Rockies, then the Plains, followed by the Upper Midwest, then the Northeast," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok said.

Accuweather doesn't offer specific times for potential storms, but says it is confident the "weather during December will not remain benign and will likely trend stormy and colder for some locations."

The National Weather Service agrees that colder days are nearly upon us. The colder blue line on the following temperature chart for the second week of December threatens Southern New England, indicating temperatures below normal for mid-December.

For now we have this week: Mostly dry with high temperatures between the low and mid 50s. The next week looks like it will be something similar.
