Sunday Is 'Safety Day' In Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The town's emergency services crews will join forces Sunday to present "Safety Day," a free family-friendly event at East Ridge Middle School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, the Ridgefield Prevention Council, Community Emergency Response Team and more local health and safety organizations will be on deck to answer questions. Police and fire vehicles will be on display.

The Newtown Police Department's K-9 officer will be part of a demonstration at 11:30 a.m., and there will be a helicopter demonstration at noon.
