The Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra is offering a final round of auditions on November 11th and 17th for youth musicians to join its String Orchestra, Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra for the winter and springs seasons.

The String Orchestra, conducted by Joanna Giordano, is an intermediate ensemble for advancing middle and high school string musicians focusing on strengthening ensemble performance skills and string instructions. The Wind Ensemble, conducted by Malin Carta, is comprised of woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians for advancing middle and high school musicians. This group performs woodwind, jazz and concert band repertoire. The WCYO Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Music Director Eric Mahl, is a full symphonic orchestra made up of advanced string, woodwind, brass, & percussion musicians ranging in age from 13 to 18, and performs challenging orchestral repertoire. The Symphony Orchestra frequently works with professional guest musicians and premiers original compositions.

Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra is non-profit youth orchestra program based in Ridgefield, CT and provides advanced music performance opportunities to youth musicians from more than 20 towns in the surrounding Connecticut and New York communities.
