Southington Students Go to the Head of the Class

Go to the Head of the Class recognizes the academic and athletic achievements of local students with information as supplied by the respective students' schools.

Earlier in the Spring Semester the Music Program at Eastern Connecticut State University presented the first concert held in Eastern's new state-of-the art Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC). Among the performers was Jonathan Rappi '19 of Southington, who performs in the Eastern Wind Ensemble. Rappi majors in Biology.

During the week of March 7th, Sarah Knight of Southington and 15 other Emmanuel students participated in the College's annual Alternative Spring Break (ASB) in Boston, Massachusetts, learning about, connecting with and taking positive action in the community in which they live and learn. ASB a week-long, faith-based service trip held during the College's traditional spring break that bridges volunteer work with education and reflection on larger social issues.

John Bracken, a resident of Southington and Theatre Studies major, was named to the Dean's List in Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences for the fall 2015 semester.

Le Moyne College has named Lauren Zazzaro to its Fall 2015 Dean's List. Zazzaro is a Freshman Communications major from Southington.

The Fall 2015 Dean's List at Roger Williams University includes these Southington residents:

The Eastern Connecticut State University club hockey team recently claimed the title of American Conference champions of the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA) with a 4-2 victory over Southern New Hampshire University. The team finished with a regular season record of 11-1, the second best record in the 32-team NECHA. Among the players was Joseph Harvey '16 of Southington, who majors in Sport & Leisure Management.

Emerson College student Audrey Conklin of Southington, has been named to the Emerson College Dean's List for the Fall 2015 semester. Conklin is majoring in Writing, Lit and Publishing.
