Stamford Chamber Of Commerce To Host Annual Meeting, Awards Ceremony

Gov. Ned Lamont will be the keynote speaker. The Chamber will also honor its 2024 award winners.

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Chamber of Commerce will host its 37th annual meeting and awards ceremony with keynote speaker Gov. Ned Lamont and welcome remarks from Mayor Caroline Simmons on Sept. 19.

The Chamber's signature event will be held at CoCreate at 47 John St. in Stamford from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

According to a news release from the Chamber, the Company of the Year Award will be presented to Rubenstein Partners, L.P., a registered investment advisor and fund manager for a series of private equity funds focused on office investments throughout the United States.

The firm has operations located at 600 Washington Blvd. and Shippan Landing in Stamford.

For the past several years, the Chamber has hosted their signature events at Shippan Landing and Harbor Terrace with on-site support from the Rubenstein Partners, L.P. team.

"They are always there to lend a hand throughout the events from set-up to break down. Their efforts and contributions have made a significant impact resulting in the success of these Chamber events by dedicating their time and expertise to ensure flawless and memorable experiences for all the guests," said Stamford Chamver President and CEO Heather Cavanagh, in a news release.

The 2024 Member of the Year Award will be given to PJ Kennedy, a content creator, editor, blogger and founder of the Hey Stamford! blog, which started in 2010 with a focus on lifestyle, character, people and issues related to his hometown.

The Kennedy family has strong ties to Stamford, and they date bak to 1879, the Chamber noted.

PJ's grandfather, the late J. Walter Kennedy, served as mayor of Stamford, his father served as sports editor of the Stamford Advocate for over 30 years, and his mother has been an educator and volunteer in the Stamford school system for close to 45 years, according to the Chamber.

PJ lives in Stamford with his wife Sandy their two children.

"PJ’s enthusiasm and passion are creating partnerships and driving business through collaborations that are evident in all that he does to support the Chamber and the community," Cavanagh added.
