Stonington Approves $80M Redevelopment Of Pawcatuck Theater: Report

The mixed-use project will bring housing and recreational facilities to the old movie theater site, according to a report.

STONINGTON, CT — The Stonington Planning & Zoning Commission on Tuesday approved plans for a mixed-use project at the site of the old Regal Cinemas in Pawcatuck, according to The Day.

Commissioners approved a site plan and master amendment to pave the way for the estimated $70 million to $80 million project on Voluntown Road, which will include three, 36-unit residential buildings, a 30,000-square-foot medical facility, a 6,000-square-foot clubhouse facility, and large recreational facilities, The Day reported. Outdoor amenities could include a playground, pool, dog park and basketball courts.

Construction could start later this year, The Day said.
