Another Motorcycle Crash In West Hartford Probed: PD

WEST HARTFORD, CT — For the second time in as many days, a motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital Monday evening after a collision with another vehicle.

The West Hartford Police Department said, at about 6:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, police and West Hartford Fire Department personnel rushed to the area of Fern Street and Mountain Road for a reported motor vehicle collision.

Police said responders determined the accident involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.

"The adult operator of the motorcycle had apparent serious injuries on scene and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital," the WHPD wrote in a release. "The operator of the passenger vehicle reported no injuries."

The collision is being investigated by the West Hartford Police Department Traffic Crash
Reconstruction Team.

At the time, Fern Street was closed between Mountain Road and Willowbrook Road and the WHPD has yet to post that it has reopened as of 7 a.m. Monday.

This accident comes after a similar collision sent a motorcycle rider to the hospital on Sunday, Aug. 11, on Albany Avenue.

Also Monday, a Farmington man was killed in a motorcycle accident in New Hartford.
