Carol Nipomnich Dixon is exhibiting fourteen oil paintings and nine embroidered collages at the Easton Public Library. Examples of her art seen in the flyer above are an embroidery on felt entitled Stained Glass Flower (13”x13” framed) and an oil painting Petal Paths (36”x36”).

Carol Nipomnich Dixon of Old Greenwich has been an active artist over many years. She has had over forty solo exhibitions, and recently had one-artist shows at the Greenwich Hospital Garden Cafe, Gertrude White Gallery Greenwich YWCA, Byram Shubert Library, Out of the Box, People’s Bank in Old Greenwich, and the MedicalBuilding at 49 LakeAvenue in Greenwich. Her works appear in galleries, museums, corporate headquarters and private collections. She is the recipient of numerous local, regional, and national awards including: the Dowling Purchase Award at the Art Society of Old Greenwich Sidewalk Show, the Jerry’s Artarama Award at the GreenwichArt Society’s Annual Summer Juried Show, and the Joyce and Bob Jones Award at the 37th Annual Juried Faber Birren National Color Award Show.

She has a BA from Vassar College Phi Beta Kappa, an MA from Columbia University, and studied art at Pratt Institute and the Brooklyn Museum Art School with teachers such as ReubenTam and Leo Manso. She received teaching certificates in NYS and CT. She taught atGreenwich Academy as Chair of the Arts and History Departments from 1976-2005. She also gave classes in studio art at the Stamford Museum for twenty-five summers. Currently, she is teaching a Collage/Mixed Media and a Critique course at the Greenwich Art Society Studio School. She has also given embroidery workshops at various venues.She was a visiting artist at area public schools. A Lifetime Artist Member of the Silvermine Guild of Arts, she was an Artist Member of its Board of Trustees. She has served as juror and curator for many exhibitions.

She has been President of the Connecticut Pioneer Branch of the National League of American Pen Women and was on the Board. of the National Association of Women Artists. She continues to serve on the boards of the Greenwich Art Society and the Art Society of Old Greenwich. She also serves on the Exhibition Committee of the Greenwich Historical Society and was a member of the Bruce Museum’s Education Committee.
