BRIDGEPORT, CT — Mark DiPietro, a 30-year-old Bridgeport man, was sentenced this week to 180 days in prison in connection with a misdemeanor sexual assault conviction, the Connecticut Post reported.

In 2016, DiPietro was accused of sexually assaulting a female patient at the St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Services campus in Westport, where he was also a patient at the time.

DiPietro was acquitted of first-degree sexual assault, a felony, earlier this year, but was convicted of the misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree sexual assault.

The case was delayed for years because DiPietro, who reportedly has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, was repeatedly found to be unfit to stand trial, according to the Stamford Advocate.
