Larceny, Attempted Burglary On Wilton PD Arrest Log For Jan. 2-7

WILTON, CT — A forged check and an attempted burglary were at the top of the Wilton Police Department's arrest log last week.

On Jan. 3, Wilton officers arrested John R. Chaski, 54, of Branford Road in North Branford on a warrant following an investigation into an attempted burglary at the Grassy Plain Smoke Shop at 991 Danbury Road on Aug. 27.

While Chaski was in custody, the Wilton PD discovered Chaski had a second-degree failure to appear arrest warrant from offenses charged by Connecticut State Troop G.

Police held Chaski on a $25,000 bond for the burglary and $7,500 for the charges on the state arrest warrant. He was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 4.

Christine Early, 50, of Williams Road in New Fairfield, turned herself in on an active arrest warrant for second-degree forgery and sixth-degree larceny on Jan. 4.

Early had been accused of stealing cash from a residence where she was working as a visiting home health care assistant, and forging a check given to her. She posted her $25,000 bond and was given a court date of Jan. 18 at Stamford Superior Court.
