Labor Day Capitol Concert 2018: What To Know Before You Go

Concertgoers from all over will flock to the U.S. Capitol Sunday night to enjoy the National Symphony Orchestra.

WASHINGTON, DC — Looking for a fun way to close out the summer? Concertgoers from all over will flock to the U.S. Capitol Sunday night to enjoy the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by JoAnn Falletta.

The free Labor Day Capitol Concert will be held at 8 p.m. at the West Lawn of the Capitol.

The program also features Aaron Goldman on the flute, Craig Mulcahy on the trombone and Leah Hawkins as the narrator and vocals.

Gates open at 3 p.m. and an open rehearsal will take place at 3:30 p.m.

The show is expected to last about 90 minutes and is free to the public. No tickets are required.

Picnics are encouraged, but alcohol is not permitted.

In case of inclement weather, you can call the National Symphony Orchestra's Summer Concert Hotline at (202) 416-8114 after 2:30 p.m. Sunday to find out whether the performance will take place at The Capitol or indoors at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. If the concert moves indoors, there will be no open rehearsal.
