5 Arrested For July Murders In Little Haiti: Miami Police

MIAMI, FL β€” Five people were arrested murder related to two incidents that happened July 1 in Little Haiti, according to a Miami Police Department news release.

Treyshawn Wright, 20, was shot and killed while driving in the area of 7th Ave. NW 58th Street.

Just a few hours later, around 6:30 p.m., 24-year-old Andre Mitchell was shot and killed at 2nd Avenue NW 52nd Street.

After a months-long investigation, five people were charged with second-degree murder, including:

  • Jamauri James Glover, 23
  • Sheldred Johnson, 19
  • Symarri Williams, 19
  • Manuel Orlando Rivera, 21

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested and charged with second-degree murder, police said.

Though the Miami Police Department publicly named him, it’s Patch policy not to name minors charged as an adult. It’s unknown whether he was charged as an adult or juvenile.

They were taken into custody in a coordinated, simultaneous execution of multiple arrest and search warrants throughout the city of Miami, Miami Dade and Broward counties and Atlanta, police said.
