City Furniture Showroom With Cafe, Wine Bar Opening In UTC: Reports

SARASOTA, FL — An upscale City Furniture showroom with a cafe and wine bar is coming to Sarasota’s University Town Center, according to multiple reports.

The more than 120,000-square-foot space will open next spring, the Tampa Bay Business Journal reported.

The Fort Lauderdale-based home furnishings store will be located in the burgeoning 60-acre East District at UTC just off Interstate 75, according to the City Furniture website. It’s the company’s 25th location in the state.

In recent years, City Furniture has been focused on the Tampa Bay area and the Sarasota location will be the third in this region. A Clearwater showroom opened in April, while its 1.3 million Plant City store, which includes a full warehouse and regional corporate headquarters, opened at the end of 2022.

There are also plans for a144,000-square-foot showroom planned in Pasco County in Cypress Creek Town Center at 25857 Sierra Center Blvd., the Tampa Bay Business Journal previously reported.

The Sarasota showroom will include a mattress gallery and the company’s KC Cafe and Wine Bar, which will serve beer, wine and light bites, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported.

“This new showroom will allow us to better serve our customers with a vast selection of high-quality, stylish home furnishings,” said Ryan Cronin, president of City Furniture, in a statement.
