TAMPA, FL — Investigators hope to identify and arrest the man who committed an armed robbery at a motel earlier this month, Tampa police said. (Watch surveillance footage video of the suspect below.)

Officers responded to the Econo Lodge in the 4000 block of North Dale Mabry Highway for the report of an armed robbery just after 10 p.m. on July 2.

The suspect threatened the clerk with a gun while demanding money from the cash register, police said. He quickly left the motel in an unknown direction after taking the money.

He was a white man who was wearing a maroon and white baseball hat, red shirt, and multi-colored shorts.
