Body Found During Welfare Check At Home: St. Pete Police

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A body was found in a St. Petersburg home during a welfare check Monday night, authorities said.

Officers responded to 10080 11th Street N. at 7:38 p.m. after a friend of the victim wasn’t able to contact him for hours and “was concerned for his well-being,” St. Petersburg police said.

The victim was found dead on the floor with upper body trauma.

His name will be released when his next of kin has been notified, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
