ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A car drove off Interstate 275 Thursday morning and landed in a St. Petersburg backyard, a Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson told Patch.

The driver, a 23-year-old woman, lost control of her car at mile marker 21 just before 8 a.m.

The car left the road, hit a ditch and went airborne, landing in the yard of a home on 8th Avenue S., FHP said.

She was brought to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
