ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Two people face charges after they were found “unresponsive” in a St. Petersburg home surrounded by drug paraphernalia and with two children, authorities said.

Nathan Larkins, 49, and Cortney Poling, 31, were each charged with two counts of child neglect, the St. Petersburg Police Department said in a news release. Larkins was also charged with child abuse.

Officers found them “unresponsive” when they responded to the home, which “was in deplorable condition with filth, including rot and mold,” police said. There were also cigarette butts on the floor and buckets of urine.
