Easter Shootout Outside Bar Injures 4 People: St. Pete Police

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Four people were injured in a shootout outside a St. Petersburg sports bar on Easter night, authorities said.

Officers responded to shots fired in a large group of people outside Sonic Sports Bar & Lounge, which opened in February at 400 49h Street S., around 11 p.m., according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.

One person who was shot was brought to Orlando Health Bayfront in St. Petersburg by ambulance, while three others brought themselves to the hospital.

The three victims, three men in their twenties and a 17-year-old woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the shootout.

Three were treated and released overnight, police said. One victim remains hospitalized with a foot injury.
