OLDSMAR, FL — A St. Petersburg man took a rideshare service to a northern Pinellas County home he broke into and fired shots at in the early morning hours of March 11, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s office.

Kemani Wright, 20, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, armed burglary, shooting into an occupied dwelling and grand theft auto.

He was dropped off down the street from a home on Azalea Court in Oldsmar by the rideshare around 1:15 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.

Wright fired a gun inside and outside the home and stole the homeowner’s Lexus, driving away before deputies arrived.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Wright texted the homeowner and told her “that her child was going to end up dead” before he was dropped off near the home, PCSO said.

Once he was on the block, Wright fired multiple rounds at two men in the home’s front yard. He followed them as they ran into the home.

Wright kicked in a bedroom door and fired several more shots into the bathroom, where the victims were hiding, the sheriff’s office said. Nobody was hit by the gunfire and there were no injuries.

He was found and arrested Friday by the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force in Marion County and booked into the Marion County Jail.
