Man Intentionally Hit By Vehicle Found Dead In Street: St. Pete Police

A man intentionally hit by an unknown vehicle was found lying in a south St. Petersburg intersection early Monday morning, police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man intentionally hit by an unknown vehicle was found lying in the intersection at 7th Avenue S. and 12th Street S. early Monday morning, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.

Police were called to the intersection, where they found the victim, 35-year-old Taiwan James Gland, around 2:40 a.m. He died at the scene, police said.

Detectives determined that the unknown driver intentionally hit Gland, so his death is being investigated as a homicide.
