Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday Runs Through Sunday

Floridians will get some relief at the checkout thanks to the state.

Getting the kids ready for school just got a little cheaper thanks to the return of Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday.

From Aug. 1-3, parents, students and other shoppers can buy a wide variety of school-related items without the extra cost of sales taxes added in. The holiday is designed to make it more affordable for parents to send their kids back to school well-supplied and ready to go.

The Florida Department of Revenue has changed the rules in parents’ favor a bit this year, too. Tax-free status now extends to clothing items with price tags up to $100, up from $75. Computers and computer-related accessories are also tax-free through Sunday, but only up to the first $750 of the purchase.
