Snapchat Led To Gator Hunting Arrest In Georgia: Officers

Authorities said the man illegally shot and killed an alligator in Burke County.

WAYNESBORO, GA — A Georgia man was arrested Sunday after authorities said he illegally shot an alligator in Burke County.

Authorities told wrdw.com they were tipped off to the shooting through a Snapchat video. The man was charged with hunting an alligator out of season, hunting across a public road and hunting without permission, according to the news station.

Alligator hunting season is Aug. 20 to Oct. 4 in Georgia.
