ATLANTA, GA — Two arrests have been made in the shooting death of a cyclist found dead in February on the Atlanta BeltLline. And police are asking a third man believed to be connected to the shooting to surrender.

“We’re coming,” Atlanta Police Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. said Wednesday in a public address in words directed at the third suspect. “We ask that you come forward. But if you don't, just like the other two counterparts, we will get you.”

A week ago, Atlanta Police released a video showing three men – at the time, considered persons of interest – walking along the BeltLine near Elizabeth Street in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward Community around 9 p.m. on the night of Feb. 25.

Wednesday, Atlanta Police Department’s fugitive unit arrested Demetrice Ross, 26, at a home in Morrow and charged him with murder, aggravated assault and gun possession by a convicted felon. Both are being held at the Fulton County Jail without bond, according to jail records.

Atlanta Police homicide unit commander Lt. Ralph Woolfolk told reporters that investigators combed through lots of video surveillance footage from Feb. 25 and were able to narrow down possible suspects based upon “a very tight timeline” of events.

“As you see them on the BeltLine, this is before the incident,” Woolfolk said as he pointed to the video of the trio as they approached a woman on the BeltLine. “This is just moments … just minutes before the actual gunshot takes place.”

Hampton thanked those who cooperated with the police in helping the two arrested and offered a warning to the remaining suspect.

“We are going to hold everyone that had any role in this homicide to justice,” he said.
