Body Of Missing Man Found In Chattahoochee: Report

Christian Maloney, 23, went missing while swimming Tuesday in the Chattahoochee River, says media report.

ATLANTA, GA β€” The body of a college student who disappeared while swimming in the Chattahoochee River was found by a search team on Thursday afternoon, according to a media report.

On Tuesday, Christian Maloney, 23, went to the river with friends to go swimming at a spot off Akers Mill Trail, WSB-TV Channel 2 reported.

He dove off a rock into the Chattahoochee; witnesses said he called out for help before going under, and he never resurfaced.

The police have not identified the body, but Maloney’s mother told Channel 2 that police told her it was her son. Maloney was a student at the University of West Georgia, according to the TV station.
