The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum will celebrate the life and legacy of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter with a special family day on Saturday, August 17th (the day before what would have been her 97th birthday). We’ll have free museum admission, activities for the children, a museum scavenger hunt, storytelling and a giant book giveaway in partnership with Reading is Fundamental (RIF).
Reading Is Fundamental CEO Alicia Levi will join us for this fun day focused on reading. 25 million children in the U.S. cannot read proficiently, which prevents them from achieving success in school, participating in all areas of life, and realizing their dreams. RIF brings books and reading content to children and families in person and online, through community activation programs like this one.
