Fall Showers To Pour Into Metro Atlanta: NWS

ATLANTA — More rainfall is heading metro Atlanta's way, starting around midnight Wednesday, forecasters told Patch Tuesday.

Vaughn Smith, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office, said no severe weather is expected but showers are anticipated the remainder of the week through Saturday.

Wind gusts could be around 10-15 mph, and high temperatures are forecast to stay in the 50s or 60s. Low temperatures should be in the 40s.

Smith said the fall weather pattern is normal for the metro this time of the year.

At 1 p.m. Monday, the weather service predicted the following detailed forecast:

This Afternoon: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. East wind 10-15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 3 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 49. East wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 55. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 48. East wind 10-15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 64. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65.

Friday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 62.
