ATLANTA, GA — If you don't love snow and freezing cold temps, then this forecast is your Christmas present. There is no snow, no rain, no ice, and no bitter cold in the Atlanta region's forecast on Christmas Day.

The National Weather Service has published its Christmas Day forecast and it will feel more like spring than the first week of winter. On Christmas Day, the Atlanta metro is expected to see plenty of sunshine and high temperatures in the low 60s. There is zero percent chance of precipitation.

The average high temperatures on Christmas Day across the area range from the mid-40s across north Georgia to the mid-50s across central Georgia, says the National Weather Service. Average low temperatures range from the mid-20s in north Georgia to the mid-40s in central Georgia.

A long term forecast released earlier this month by the Old Farmer's Almanac dashed the hopes of Christmas romantics, predicting rain and mild temperatures on the big day. Historical data gathered over years by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shows the chances of Christmas Day snow were never good.

Before we get to Christmas Day, we'll see a cold and rainy weekend, followed by temps rebounding into the 50s on Monday and the 60s on Tuesday. The second half of next week should be pleasant with no hint of storms and highs in the mid-60s.
