Forsyth Sheriff’s Office Announces Crime Decreased In 2019

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said it has seen a reduction in burglary, theft, robbery and rape in the community.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — As the population continues to increase in Forsyth County, crime is decreasing, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Uniform Crime Report and the National Incident-Based Reporting System.

Forsyth County has seen a reduction in burglary, theft, robbery, and rape. Comparing 2018 to 2019, burglaries were down 33 percent, theft declined by 28 percent, and robberies dropped 22 percent. Reported rapes in 2018 versus 2019 decreased by 52 percent. Forsyth County continues to be one of the safest communities within the metro-Atlanta region.

“The continued reduction in crime in the County is a true testament to the cooperation and communication between the citizens and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office," Sheriff Ron Freeman said. "Without the buy-in from our citizens, we would not be successful in combating crime and making sure it does not happen in Forsyth County.”
