Hampton Man Charged With Murder In Cumming Man's Shooting Death

The man who died in the Wednesday shooting at Ivy Street has been identified.

CUMMING, GA β€” The man who died Wednesday in an Ivy Street shooting was identified Thursday by authorities as 23-year-old Cumming resident Hamilton Samuel Darwin.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Ja'Mychael Quintrez Peavy, 20, of Hampton, is being charged on suspicion of felony murder in relation to Darwin's death. The shooting occurred around 7:40 a.m.

Authorities said the two men were temporary employees at a "warehouse type business" and had gotten into a fight. Both men retrieved guns and shot each other, authorities said.

Peavy remains in the hospital, where he is recovering from a gunshot wound, authorities said.
