SPHS Carries Ball for Paulding in Playoffs

South Paulding was the lone county team to make it to the second round of the Georgia High School Association football playoffs.

The Georgia High School Association began the first round of the state Football playoffs last Friday, as 32 teams in each classification began their quest for a state championship.

The Paulding County School District had three teams competing in the playoffs.

South Paulding grabbed the runner up position in Region 5-AAAAA and was the only team that advanced to the second round. South defeated Loganville in their first round match up by a score of 34-16.

The Spartans are advancing to face Drew High School. Drew the #4 seed out of Region 4-AAAAA defeated Carver-Columbus last week to advance.
