  1. Authorities in Dalton are warning residents that phone scammers are posing as members of the Dalton Fire Department and asking for money. The scammer requested a monetary donation to benefit the Fire Department as well as asking for credit card and debit card information. Police emphasized that the Dalton Fire Department and Dalton Police Department do not call residents to solicit money. Contact Dalton police at 706-278-9085 if you receive a similar call. (Times Free Press)
  2. Longtime member of the City of Dalton’s Public Safety Commission and former educator with the Dalton Public Schools, William B. β€œBill” Weaver, passed away on Friday, Mar. 3, at the age of 87. The life-long resident of Dalton was respected by all in both the private and public sectors. (Local 3 News)
  3. Julian Meza's kindergarten classmates cheered him on as he rode his custom adaptive bike, special bikes used for therapy and for mobility around the home, for the first time. Julian, a Dalton City Park School student, uses a wheelchair and his parents were able to buy the bike after finding the Specially Gifted Foundation, which provides assistance for families of children with disabilities. Most of the adults, including Julian's teacher Missi Roper, were crying as they watching Julian riding the bike. Roper said, "He's the best kid you could ever run into. He's got a great spirit, and his family is just precious. I'm so happy for him and so happy for his family." (Daily Citizen)
