Here are the top three stories in Dalton today:

  1. Dalton State College's men's golf team won the recent SSAC Men's Golf Championship at RTJ at Cambrian Ridge that took place earlier this week in Greenville, Alabama. The win is the seventh SSAC title for Dalton State in the last eight years. The team won by 36 strokes over second-place Blue Mountain Christian. (The Chattanoogan)
  2. The Dalton Flower Show is coming up on May 5-6, and organizers recently held a workshop to teach floral design and flower arrangements at the Whitfield County Senior Center in preparation for the show. The organizers are also encouraging anyone interested to enter their own plants and flower creations into the show's many categories or to come to attend the free show, which is open to the general public.   3. Dalton Public School students took home a total of 30 awards from the annual Speak Up Whitfield podcasting competition. The winner of the highest overall award of the night, "La Grand Voz," was the podcast "The Empty Cup" by student Soraya McEuen of Dalton Junior High School. The school with the highest combined scores of the night was The Dalton Academy followed by Dalton Junior High School in second place and Hammond Creek Middle School in third place.
