Here are the top three stories today in Dalton:

  1. Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation after a woman was shot by police during a confrontation at a hospital in Dalton. A woman was shot by a police officer during a struggle at Hamilton Medical Center's Emergency Department in Dalton after she barricaded herself in a patient room and began fighting hospital staff. The woman and the injured officer are both expected to recover. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. Dalton's Tuesday Morning location will close, along with other branches. The Tuesday Morning located at 1001 Market St. in the Dalton Outlet Shops will close soon. This comes after the announcement that the retailer will be closing over half of its stores in 2023 in an effort to become profitable once again. The company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Texas due to poor sales at some of its stores. A total of 264 stores across 38 states will be closing. (NJ.com)
  3. North Georgia Health District has an empowering theme for this year's National Minority Health Month. The theme for this year is "Better Health Through Better Understanding," which emphasizes the importance of addressing cultural and linguistic needs to improve health outcomes.
